Rudra is a famous name of Lord Shiva. The essence of this puja lies in the holy chant of Sri Rudram from the Yajur Veda, along with giving a holy bath to the Shivling using various materials, including Panchamrit or fruit salad soaked in honey. According to our ancient texts and scriptures, Sri Rudram is the primordial Vedic hymn composed of the names of Lord Shiva. Various aspects of Lord Shiva are invoked and venerated through the recitation of Sri Rudram. When a fire ritual (Yagna) is performed after the recitation, it is called Rudra Yagna (Homam). This is one of the most powerful pujas for individuals seeking Lord Shiva’s blessings to overcome any issue and fulfill their desires with the divine grace of Lord Shiva.
